Synergistic Activities:

  • GK-12 Teacher Workshops and Summer Institutes (2011, 2012) Organized and developed sessions for teachers and provided inquiry-based lesson plans and activities that they can take back to their classrooms.
  • Science Night at Plainwell School District (2012) Worked with students, teachers and
    local community groups to organize the fair. About 400 people attended.
  • Mentored three undergraduate students and four high school students in ecological research.
  • Member of the MSU College of Natural Science Committee on Diversity and Community (2009-2011).
  • SEEDS (Strategies for Ecology Education, Diversity and Sustainability) mentor for underrepresented undergraduates, Ecological Society of America Annual Meeting
